Grew up in suburban Minneapolis where father (Cliff Sakry) was writer, producer and music director for Promotional Films, Inc. (he also authored, composed, and produced the popular stage musical, Minnesota!).

At age ten, acted in Teddy Award-winning film, Wilderness Quest—one of more than 100 commercially sponsored features which Promotional Films produced.

In high school, wrote and directed first short (Super 8mm) film.

In college, studied film and television at St. Cloud State University, Minnesota …

After college, established ADTEK, Inc., an advertising-marketing company based in St. Cloud, Minnesota—wrote and produced commercial videos and TV spots in conjunction with print media.
Subcontracted as assistant director and special effects (ADO) consultant for Minneapolis-based video production company.
Wrote series of forty radio scripts for Dave Winkleman's nationally syndicated "Outdoor Trivia" program.
Performed in Disney feature film, Iron Will, as a (paid) background actor.
First feature screenplay, Hallowmas, placed in top five (out of 40) scripts judged by panel of professional screenwriters, directors and producers for Minnesota Screenwriters' Workshop "Screenlabs" production sponsorship.
